Here you can learn a little bit about how solar energy augements residential power supply. Let’s take a quick look at how solar energy residential systems work.

Whats is Solar Energy Residential?

Residential Solar Energy to reduce your carbon footprint and save an alot on per month electricity bill. This is a great way to contribute to saving earth and at the same time getting a benefit out of it.

How it works: Solar panels are basically photovoltaic (PV) cells. In short, these special batteries harness sunlight, transform it into pure energy, then send that to an inverter, which converts energy into electricity to power the home.

Know How on Residential Solar Energy

1. Reduce Power Usage

The very first thing to do before going solar is to see if there are ways to optimize/reduce your energy consumption significantly. Check for all your conventional equipment in your home and see what could make more efficient or reduce. CFL lights are 4 times more efficient and lasts 10 times as long as an incandescent bulb, so replacing regular lamps with CFLs and LEDs can bring pretty huge energy savings. Check if you are using energy-star  (3-5 stars) rated equipment. These might cost more in the beginning but will pay for themselves in a few years with reduction in consuption compared to equipment that has no energy rating. Reducing your energy consumption makes it very easy to go off the grid and convert your energy source to solar power.

2.Measure how your electricity consumption

It’s the most important thing you need to do before going for residential solar power systems, solar energy residential systems capacity is based on your actual consumption.

To calculate energy consumption costs, simply multiply the unit’s wattage by the number of hours you use it to find the number of watt-hours consumed each day. For example, let’s say you use a 150 watt television for three hours per day. By multiplying the wattage by the number of hours used per day, we find that you are using 450 watt-hours per day
